Criticism is being directed towards the wife of Sanwo Olu, the Governor of Lagos for characterizing the death of a doctor, in Lagos as an "arrow fired."

Netizens have been expressing their reactions to a circulated video featuring Ibijoke Sanwo Olu, the First Lady of Lagos State. In the video she made a connection, between the elevator accident at General Hospital Odan, Lagos Island, where Dr. Vwaere Diaso tragically lost her life and an "arrow fired into the health family."

Reports indicate that Diaso was inside the elevator when the incident occurred on Tuesday as she was heading to collect her food from a dispatch rider. She was swiftly taken to the hospitals emergency ward. Sadly succumbed to her injuries.

In response to this event Diasos fellow colleagues staged a protest at the hospital premises on Wednesday causing disruptions to routine activities. Additionally Dr. Benjamin Olowojebutu and Ismail Ajibowo of the Nigerian Medical Associations Lagos State Chapter instructed doctors working in government hospitals on Lagos Island to commence a strike in solidarity.

During Mrs. Sanwo Olus address to the protesters in the video she drew parallels, between this incident and a helicopter crash that took place in the state earlier on Tuesday.

She expressed her disbelief by stating, "The health family has been struck by an arrow. The first of August is forever etched in my memory... On that day we witnessed both a helicopter crash and an elevator malfunction. How? How?" "How?"

However her remarks didn't sit well with a number of Twitter users who criticized the Lagos First Lady for expressing views.

The incident was attributed to the hospital managements negligence in maintaining the elevator than any attack.

A Twitter user named @ceemancy expressed, "Anything that can go wrong will go wrong at the possible moment...that's Murphys law. That's why maintenance is so crucial."

Another user, @deesick echoed this sentiment by stating, "How? Negligence, lack of concern, carelessness. That's how."

Likewise @DieuEmeka held the government for Dr. Diasos death.
He tweeted, "The explanation is simple. The government, led by her husband failed to upkeep the elevator. There was no mystery, behind it— corruption and irresponsibility on the part of the government. That's what happened and why."

However the Lagos State Government has initiated an inquiry panel to investigate the circumstances surrounding this incident. Has pledged to take action, against anyone found responsible.
