Megan Barton Hanson opens up about her experience, on Love Island sharing that she had to give up her OnlyFans account to be a part of the show. She also discusses how she faced slut shaming since the age of 13.

Megan Barton Hanson recently shared that the producers, at ITV required her to give up her OnlyFans account in order to participate on Love Island.

The 29 year old reality star opened up about the realities of working in the adult industry. She revealed that she has faced job losses due to her association with the content platform and sadly she also experienced slut shaming from a young age.

During an interview on Jamie Laings Private Parts Podcast, Megan, who publicly identified as bisexual in 2019 mentioned that she earns an income by sharing content on OnlyFans. However she has often faced judgment and criticism for choosing this career path.

Explaining her situation further Megan shared how she had already been using OnlyFans prior to her appearance on Love Island in 2018. However the shows producers expressed their concern about its compatibility with the family nature of the show. This led to a disagreement, between Megan and the producers.

The reality TV star shared her thoughts on the challenges of working in the industry emphasizing the importance of being strong willed due, to the potential for criticism and negative feedback.

Megan further explained, "No matter how much you try to educate and influence others there will always be individuals who hold opinions about professions. If you're not confident in your convictions I don't think it's wise to pursue such a career because you'll inevitably face judgment."

Having grown up in Southend On Sea Essex, Megan reflected on her school days where conformity seemed to be the norm. She noticed that she was more open, about her sexuality and dated people during that time which unfortunately led to some people slut shaming her.

"So while I was growing up " she shared "I lived in a community where everyone seemed to fit into a mold. No one dared to deviate from expectations." I've always had a sense of freedom when it comes to my sexuality. I've had my share of dating experiences, with different guys. Looking back I realize that perhaps it wasn't, about insecurity but just a desire to be accepted and liked by others.

"I think maybe I sought validation from men. So I ended up dating a lot of guys, which unfortunately led to me being subjected to slut shaming starting from Year 9 by a guy.

He asked me if I would send him a video. Thankfully I firmly declined. I made it clear that I wasn't going to send him anything. Then he asked if I had ever masturbated before and even though I hadn't I lied and said yes because all I wanted was to please him."

Megan shared that on her day of school a rumor started circulating among her classmates causing her to consider changing schools.

She recalled the situation by saying; "Everyone was looking at me like 'Oh yeah, thats the girl who did something with herself!'"

"I was completely mortified! It made me want to transfer schools.. Explaining why, to my mom was incredibly difficult!

"I believe this experience contributed significantly to my insecurities. It always felt like I didn't quite fit in."The former dancer, who often discusses her sexuality also shared that she was terrified to reveal her self because Love Island portrayed her as a "man eater."

She mentioned, "Another thing, about Love Island is that I was typecast as someone who's highly sexual and predatory. So naturally I was afraid to confirm those assumptions by coming out."

Megan has had an on again relationship with Demi Sims, a 26 year old star, from TOWIE. They were recently seen together in Brentwood.

In February Demi announced that she and her former flame Megan had gotten back together after breaking up two years.
