Nigerian artist, Ayodeji Balogun, popularly known as Wizkid has achieved a milestone by becoming the African musician to receive the prestigious BRIT Billion award for accumulating, over 1 billion streams in the United Kingdom.
Wizkid was honored with this award following his successful and sold out concert at Tottenham Hotspur Stadium in London on Saturday.
His music has garnered popularity in the UK with contributions including his collaboration with Drake on the hit song "One Dance," which has been certified six times Platinum for selling, over 3.6 million units.
Skeptas collaboration "Energy" and Tems track "Essence" have both achieved platinum certification while Wizkids collaborations with Drake on "Come and Beyoncé on "Brown Skin Girl" have both been certified gold. Additionally Wizkids fourth studio album, "Made In Lagos " has also received gold certification, in the UK.
