"The death of my father really shaped my mindset” – Rema

Rema, a singer who goes by the stage name Divine Ikubor believes that his fathers passing had an impact, on his outlook and mindset.

The singer known as "Holiday" revealed that he didn't have an approach, to life during his childhood. It wasn't until his father passed away that he truly understood the value of family.

During an interview on the Afrobeats podcast hosted by Adesope Olajide Rema shared that prior to his fathers death Mr. Ikubor he was quite playful and carefree.

In a conversation with Shopsydoo on his podcast Rema expressed;

"The loss of my dad had an impact, on me. It shaped my mindset. Influenced my emotions you know?

"There was a time when I was full of energy and humor always running around and not taking things seriously.. Losing my dad changed everything for me. It unveiled aspects of peoples personalities. Highlighted the significance of family.

"Yeah we may have our share of sibling fights and disagreements. We never truly know when we might lose those closest to us. My dad used to refer to me as a soldier."
