According to the Wall Street Journal, X the social media platform formerly known as Twitter has recently reinstated Kanye Wests account after a suspension of eight months. This decision came after West assured the platform that he would not share any content or use language.
During the fall of year West posted an image that seemed to depict a swastika combined with a Star of David. As a response entrepreneur Elon Musk, who had acquired the platform weeks prior suspended West from using it. Musk referred to Wests post, as an "incitement to violence."
At this time there has been no response from Xs press office regarding Wests account reinstatement. As of now there have been no posts made by West.
It is worth noting that year West faced consequences in terms of lost business deals due to his anti Semitic remarks. Adidas ended their decade partnership, with him and discontinued his Yeezy branded sneakers.In May the German company announced that their profitable partnership, with West had come to an end resulting in a decrease of 400 million euros (US$441 million) in sales during the quarter of the year.
Moreover both Gap and Balenciaga decided to sever their connections with the rapper and designer.
Following Musks acquisition of Twitter for $44 billion, in October year he has implemented workforce reductions and scaled back content moderation.
In December he decided to bring former president Donald Trumps Twitter account even though Trump hasn't come back, to the platform yet.
A week ago Musk and his appointed CEO, Linda Yaccarino revealed their plans to rebrand Twitter as X. They announced that it would transform into an "everything app," enabling users to manage their finances alongside socializing.
Additionally Musk made a change, to the Twitter logo by replacing the bird with a white X.
