Irelands captain, Katie McCabe emphasized that her teams 0 0 draw, against Nigerias Super Falcons in Mondays FIFA Womens World Cup match was due to their failure to convert scoring chances.
Both the Republic of Ireland and Nigeria played a goalless match at the World Cup on Monday.
In an interview with RTE Sport after the game McCabe expressed her belief that Ireland had the potential to secure all three points against Nigeria in Brisbane.
She stated, "We discussed the importance of starting the game, with energy levels. We had an amount of possession. We needed to make better use of it in key areas."
McCabe acknowledged that they had created some opportunities during the match and expressed disappointment at their inability to capitalize on them.
